Home Learning Websites:

  • Be Awesome Go Big Transition project Be Awesome, Go Big is a package to help Year 6 students transition into Year 7. It can be used by students and parents at home. It is designed to be motivational, helpful and reassuring and to help young people feel valued, loved, encouraged and equipped for the journey ahead.

  • 100 story building 100 Story Building is a social enterprise developing creativity and literacy for children and young people, through workshop programs, online learning and community engagement. They are posting lots of mini writing inspiration ideas on Youtube
  • Literacy resources Some fantastic images to draw stories from. We have used some of these in class for our descriptive writing - “The Winter King”.

Science including STEM:

  • Science Scientific home learning lessons with videos - very engaging.

Sport ideas:

  • Sport and games The Schools Game website has made available some new formats resource cards from various NGBs for download to assist activity during the current situation. They are on the public open area of the SG website.

RSHE (Relationships, Sex, Health Education)

Children should aim to be reading at least 3 times a week.

The new curriculum states that children should be fluent in their times tables up to 12x12 by the end of year 4. If your child is still not, please work with your child to learn them.  TT Rockstars is a great way to encourage them to learn their tables. It will make a huge difference to their maths learning across the topics.
