Pupil Premium

Please read the information below which gives details of our Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) and how we allocate the funding.  Mrs Padfield is our Pupil Premium Coordinator and ensures the PPG grant is allocated effectively to support our children.  We would strongly recommend you take advantage of  free school meals if you are in receipt of PPG.

The pupil premium is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers. It is allocated to children from low-income families who are currently known to be eligible for Free School Meals (FSM), Looked after Children (LAC) , children adopted from care (PLAC) and Service Forces children. It also includes pupils who have been eligible for FSM at any point in the last six years (known as the Ever 6 FSM measure).

At Stalbridge Primary school we have a comprehensive package of support in place to support our children.  Our strategy is to boost self esteem, close the gaps in their learning, improve attitudes towards learning and improve attendance.  Some of the ways we achieve this in our school include, but are not limited to:

  • School Led Tutoring
  • Musicianship programme
  • Art and craft activities
  • Additional catch up sessions and boosting by the child’s class teacher
  • Meditation
  • Elsa
  • Nurture group to support playtimes
  • Support with uniform costs
  • Subsidised residential costs

If you think your child may eligible to receive this additional funding and support but are not sure whether the school are aware of this, please speak to Mrs Padfield or Mrs Arnold. We can help you to contact the Local Authority. You can apply any time online at https://www.dorsetforyou.gov.uk/free-school-meals

All schools are required to publish their Pupil Premium spending details. Governors and leaders evaluate these plans and their impact termly. Please see below for more details.
