Dear Parents
Spring term Newsletter
Spring is in the air as we begin our journey towards Easter!
I hope you enjoyed the half term break and look forward to all the exciting events ahead.
Healthy Me
This term our Jigsaw PSHE focusses on healthy bodies and minds. Each
class will explore this in detail. We would like to remind those with packed
lunches to include healthy options like fruit and vegetables. We discourage
chocolate, sweets and fizzy drinks.
Use of the Field This Term
Although the field is a bit wet, we would like the children to make more use of it.Do they have wellies at home? If so they can bring them in a named bag on Mondays and Wednesdays, for use at lunchtimes. They will be able to visit the ducks, play on the
tree trail and have fun. If your child keeps wellies in school you will not need to bring
extras.
No Parking in Staff Car Park
We are sorry that we cannot allow cars to enter or leave the staff car park at the beginning or end of the school day. This would put children in danger. Please find alternative places to park. Breakfast club arrivals prior to 8.25am are the exception.
Collecting Things
Please help us to raise funds for school by sending in empty biscuit wrappers (any brand), various air and home cleaning packaging and used pens (more details are attached separately). We also support local charities by collecting plastic milk bottle tops, unwanted spectacles, printer cartridges and used stamps. We will soon have a wheelie bin outside of the school office (near notice board) for all these items to be dropped in, ready for our eco-council to sort. We have two bins outside to collect foil for the Ben Tickner's Appeal. Please send all these items into school with your child. Many thanks.
Jigsaw Dreams and Goals Garden Sale
Thank you for your support with our Jigsaw sale. We are delighted to say we raised £116.12, all going to Cancer Research. Well done to all.
Easter Service
We are looking forward to our Easter service on Thursday 26th March at 9.10am.All families are welcome.
Term Dates
These are always displayed on our school website.
Spring term ends Friday 27th March
Summer Term Tuesday 14th April - Friday 17th July
Half Term 25th-29th May
Inset Days Monday 13th April and Monday 20th July
Wake 'n' Shake
Our school day begins during Wake 'n' Shake. We then line up with the help of parents and Carers. Please do not say goodbye to your child until they have lined up. All children need to either join in or stay with their adults. Please keep children off play equipment during the beginning of the school day.
Lateness
If your child arrives late for school (after 9am) please enter school via the school office. Children can then be registered and then go to their class.
World Book Day - 5th and 6th March
Don't forget to join us for the bedtime stories and big write on Thursday and Friday next week.
Sports Events
Good luck to all our swimmers and footballers taking part in events in the coming
weeks. Thank you to parents who help with transport. There will be more events
coming up so that other players have their opportunity.
New Life Photography Competition
Can you see signs of new life around you? We would like the children to enter our photography competition to celebrate signs of 'new life', which is our Easter theme. All children can enter and prizes will be awarded for the best entries from each class. Entries should be hard copies and can be handed in to the class teacher or office. Please make
sure they have the name and year on the back. All entries will be displayed at school. The only rules are that all entries must be taken by the child only and there must be no enhancements made to the pictures. Sorry but we cannot print out pictures on behalf
of the children. The closing date is Friday 17th April. There is plenty of time to get practising.
Help in School
Would you like to support the learning in our school? If so please contact the office. You may be asked to complete paperwork in line with our Safeguarding Policy.
