Stalbridge Church of England Primary School

5th March 2012

5th March 2012

Dear Parents/Carers

Here's a few notes and some information.

Thank you to the parents who last week attended our E-Safety talk by Shelley Brady-Conolly. As many parents are working and couldn't attend we have put together a newsletter as an informative guide to supporting your child/ren on the internet - this is available on the school's website (news update section). If you do not have access to the internet then call into the school office to collect a copy. Please feel free to see Mr Lewis or Mrs Chant if you have any questions.

Fairtrade Big Brew Tea Party
There is a Fairtrade Big Brew Tea Party at the Congregational Church from 2pm on Friday. Our choir will be singing there and several classes will be having a stall to help raise funds for Fairtrade and for their class trips. All are welcome to go along.

Year 6 have organised a bingo night to help raise funds for their residential trip in the summer term. The bingo will take place at the village hall on Thursday 15th March, doors open 6.30 for eyes down 7.30pm.

Easter Service
Our Easter Service will be at 9.10am on Thursday 29th March. We welcome all members of the community to join us.

A big thanks to the PTA
The PTA are working really hard on organising and running events to raise funds for the school. I'd like to thanks all that have contributed their time and efforts. Forthcoming events are a table top sale and Easter egg hunt on 29th March and a Film Night on Friday 20th April. Details of these events will follow shortly.

Sport Relief Mile
Friday 23rd March is Sport Relief Day. We are arranging our day and will let you know the full details nearer the time. We will be running a Sport Relief Mile (open to all children and parents/relatives) and Dikes have kindly agreed to set up their Bacon Butty stall to help us replenish the calories after the run.

Environmental Area
As you may be aware we have a new pond in the environmental area. This is to create a new habitat for the smaller creatures (eg the newts) away from the ducks who go from strength to strength. A big thank you on behalf of everyone at school to Andy Parker who arranged the digging of the new pond at his own expense.

Yours sincerely

Mr M Allen
