Jeans for Genes day.
Well done to everyone who supported this cause today. Together we raised a total of £171.00. Well done to the school council who counted up all the money.

Reading eggs
We are pleased to send home your reading eggs passwords for this academic year. Reading eggs is a great resource to read a book, play learning games and challenges, write stories and compete with fellow pupils. All the reading counts towards our reading class competitions too.

Harvest festival church service Thursday 28th September 9.05 am
Please join us on at the church for our harvest worship. We would like children to bring in their harvest offering on the Wednesday 27th September, so that we can display these in the church. All the classes will take part in the service.

Bikes and scooters
It's good to see so many children riding to school. Please do not allow your child to ride on the playground. We don't allow this at all on the playground. Thanks for your cooperation.

School development plan
We were pleased with last year's academic results. We use these and other sources of feedback, including our Ofsted inspection, to set new school development goals.
Our goals this year are as follows
  1. English - including improved results for writing and handwriting
  2. Maths - a focus on mental skills in arithmetic
  3. Curriculum- having high expectations to stretch pupils' abilities and skills across all subjects
  4. Teaching and learning - to build on the strengths of the school to work towards outstanding provision

As we are a good school, our goal is to work towards becoming outstanding. Throughout our work this year, we are focussing on the power of practice.

Next week, we welcome the Life Education Van. Don't forget that the van is open to parents 2.45pm-3.10pm. Please come to the front desk first.

A big thank you.
We want to say a big thank you to our local neighbour, Mr Bob Service, who has donated £174 to the school. The Year 6 children have written to say thank you. The school council will be thinking about what to spend the money on. I am sure all the classes will have lots of ideas.
