It's our final newsletter of the year. The staff and I would like to thank you for your support; attending all our events and supporting us in our roles. Although the year has flown by, we have thoroughly enjoyed it.
The children have been amazing, hardworking, kind, thoughtful and resilient. We are proud of all of their achievements. Everyone here wishes you a relaxing summer break.
School begins again on Tuesday September 5th 2017.
Key Stage 2 Production of Hoodwinked I hope you enjoyed the performance as much as we did! The children showed great courage, friendship and determination. Well done to all the children in years 3-6 for their excellent singing, acting and performing.
Summer Swim School Mrs Joy (Mrs Gill) is running her annual swimming school in the holidays here in our pool. If you are attending, please be aware of vehicles moving around the site. We are having some work done and contractors' vehicles and equipment will be a potential hazard to pedestrians.
Guitar Assembly We had a fantastic performance of 'Walking on Sunshine' from Alistair and the guitarists on Wednesday. Well done to all the children who took part. They have inspired the children to think about taking up a musical instrument. Alistair does have some availability next term. If you would like guitar lessons, please contact him on alichester.music@gmail.com or 01963 220368.
Hot School Meals All the menus have been distributed for the start of next term. If your child is moving up to Year 3, you are reminded that you will have to pay for your meals, at £2.30 per meal. Also, please remember to log on and order your meals before August 29th2017, ready for the start of term.
Healthy Lunchboxes As a school, we promote healthy eating and do not allow sweets or fizzy drinks. We ask you to support our goals for a healthy lifestyle by providing a balanced lunch of no more than one small chocolate item. Thanks for your support.
Uniform Thank you for always ensuring that your child is well dressed in our uniform. You can order uniform items from www.brigadeuniformdirect.uk.com (log on, enter the school name and select the school from the drop down list provided). Please note that you must place your order BEFORE 7TH AUGUST for delivery before the start of term. We have enclosed our Uniform policy for your information, ready for September.
Parent helpers and PTA As a school, we are lucky that so many of our parents support the activities which we get involved in. Your generosity to our charity days has been incredible over the year. We value all the help and support we get; thank you to all the people who have helped this year with reading, swimming and trips. Thank you to Mrs Pitman and her team who have led events, which you have supported, to raise essential money for the school.
KS1 Swimathon Years R, 1 and 2 worked very hard in the pool to swim and raise money for the school. I am pleased to let you know that the total so far is an amazing £1,232.25! All this money will help to refurbish the play equipment and help with swimming pool running costs.
White Hart Link Would you and your children like to help with the White Hart Link walking route in Stalbridge over the holidays? We are looking for families to add stickers to the way markers on the route. If you think you would like to help, please email info@whitehartlink.uk .
Goodbye and Good luck As we end the year, I would like to wish our lovely Year 6 children good luck as they move to Secondary School. We are all so proud of what they have achieved and the children that they have become. We had a great 'Leaver's Party' with them last night. Thanks very much to all who helped with the organising.
Mrs Luxton leaves us this term. She has done a fantastic job on the front desk and we are sorry to see her go. She leaves to take a post at Leweston School. We wish her every success for the future.
We also say goodbye to Mrs Quinn, who covered maternity leave. She has worked really well in Year R and moves on to new adventures. Good luck from everyone here.
Have a lovely restful summer break
