Well done to all the KS2 children who took part in the North Dorset Pyramid Cluster Athletics Festival on Tuesday. We had a lovely sunny afternoon, with lots of great results in individual events. Our school came third in the competition overall, with lots of children doing better than they had thought. We are very proud of our resilient children and excellent team work that we saw on the day. Well done

The BIG ME day- Friday 23rd June
Don't forget to come to school dressed as your future self. We are thinking about the value 'Aspire'. We are also raising money for Action aid, which support children in deprived areas. If you want to take part, please also bring a contribution of a £1.

All our Year 1 children have finished their screening check. We will let you know how they did when we send out our reports later in the term. We aren't able to share any information with you until then.

Grandparents Day Thursday 22nd June 9.05 am - 11.30am
Last year, our Grandparents day was very successful and very busy! This year, we have split the morning into Key Stages to allow for more room! We welcome you to church at 9:05 to start our day.

  • 9.40am - refreshments in the hall

  • 10.00-10.30 am Grandparents from Years R, 1 and 2 visit the classes and read with their children

  • 10.30-11.00am - refreshments in the hall

  • 11.00-11.30 am Grandparents from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 visit the classes and read with their children.

Please let the office know who would like to attend and let us know if you have special requirements, for example, planning for disabled access. We hope to welcome as many Grandparents as possible.

Pupils take over!
We are pleased to let you know the results of our election. Well done to all who took part. Ruby White has been elected to be a Headteacher for the day. Oscar Moore has been elected to be a Deputy Head for the day. Watch this space, they are busy planning their day and taking ideas from the children.

Sports Day
Our annual sports day is on Thursday 29th June, with the day split into Key Stages. Please remember to provide a colour t-shirt for your child depending on which 'house' they are in. If you aren't sure, check with your class teacher. It will be either;

  • Green

  • Yellow

  • Red

  • Blue

They will need school PE shorts and trainers or daps. Children must have proper
PE footwear to take part, not school shoes.

Rounders Competitions
On Tuesday 20th June, our Year 2 class will take part in a cluster rounders event at William Barnes. On Thursday afternoon, a team of Year 5 and 6 children will take part in a match at Child Okeford. Good luck everyone.

Thought for the Week
Every week, we have a special focus for thinking and prayer. This week, we are thinking about changing and growing. "Teach a child to choose the right path, and when he is older, he will remain upon it". (Living Bible: Proverbs 22:6)

Travelling Books - Book Fair
We are celebrating reading next week with the Book fair available Monday- Thursday after school. Please bring some money and have a look each day from 3.15pm- 4.00pm. Grandparents can also browse during Thursday.

Don't forget to come to the Disco tonight.

  • KS1 (YR,1,2) from 6pm- 7pm

  • KS2 7.15pm- 8.15pm

Thank you very much to our dedicated PTA team for planning and running this very popular event. Please can we ask that children avoid bringing any electronic devices and wearing heels, which damage our special hall floor.

Blooming Tea Party News
The Blooming Tea Party held last Friday raised £275 for Marie Curie. Thanks for all cake donations and for your support of the event. Many thanks to Mandy Elsworth and the PTA for running this event.

Chloe's Teddy Bear & Cake Sale
Well done to Chloe Jackson of Year 3 who raised a total of £102 at her teddy and cake sale for Cancer Research at school yesterday. Chloe has been working really hard to raise money for this cause and has so far raised a total of £163. If you couldn't make the sale or would just like to give your support to Chloe and Cancer Research, please visit

That's all our news for this week.

Kind regards
Sarah Lafferty-Jenkins
