Curriculum

Curriculum

We offer a broad and balanced curriculum. Below is our curriculum policy which takes account of the National Curriculum 2014. All curriculum areas have specific goals and aims which are reviewed termly. You can find out how we teach the curriculum by exploring each class page.

Below is a leaflet we have produced as a guide for parents for the new curriculum.

We hope you find all this information useful.

Learning Behaviours at Stalbridge

We teach the children what successful learning means using our learning behaviours. We know that there are lots of skills involved in learning. We want our children to have a good understanding of how the brain works, attitudes to learning that help us and ways to succeed. Read the information leaflet for more details.

Collective worship

We are proud to be a church school and join together to worship God regularly.
We visit our local church every fortnight and worship with family and friends. We follow the 'Values for Life' Christian values for our collective worship. We recognise the efforts that the children and staff make to live out these Christian Values with our weekly 'Spotted' award. We actively explore other faiths and teach our children to respect the beliefs and values of others.
Please see out collective worship timetable above.
We had our Church schools inspection in November 2014, where we graded as 'good'.

E-Safety

At Stalbridge Primary school, we understand how important it is to stay safe online. All the children have E-safety lessons using the 'ThinkUknow' website, as well as many more. We remind each other to be safe at school and use our E-Safety code of conduct every time.

Teaching Modern British Values

At Stalbridge Primary School, we recognise our responsibilities to teach the children according to Modern British Values. We use these throughout the curriculum and alongside our Christian Values. Staff are well informed in respect the statutory duties with regard to the 'Prevent' programme.
