9th November 2009
Here's some dates and information for the weeks leading up to Christmas.
Weather permitting the whole school will walk up to the village for the two minute silence outside the post office to remember those fallen in conflict. The School Council will distribute poppies tomorrow and Wednesday morning for those who would like to donate a small amount towards the Poppy Appeal.
We have booked a theatre company for Wednesday afternoon. They will perform a play entitled 'Captain Cholesterol and the Grannies from Mars' to KS1 and KS2.
Children in Need Day - Friday 20th November
We've done a lot of fundraising recently so we've decided not to do anything specific for Children in Need this year. We'll have a bucket for change at the front entrance to the school for any donations.
This year it's our younger children's turn to entertain us with a nativity play. They will perform for parents on Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th December at 2.15pm. More details nearer the time.
Our Christmas church service is on Thursday 17th December at 9.10am, all are welcome.
Breakfast Club and Mrs Prill's Reading and Games Club
Another reminder about these two.
Breakfast Club is from 8am to 8.50am on Tuesdays and Thursdays at £3 including breakfast of cereal, toast, juice, tea etc. Alternatively you can drop your child off at 8.25am for child care (art and craft activities) for £1 per child. Mrs Prill provides childcare at the school on Wednesdays and Fridays from 8.25am to 8.50am for £1 per child. For these two childcare opportunities to continue we need children! We run these clubs for no profit and indeed, subsidize them. We won't be able to do this forever and will need to break even. Please, if you need childcare in the mornings give us a try!
Unfortunately we are finding a few incidences of headlice. I urge parents to be vigilant, and check hair on a regular weekly basis. Should you require any further advice please contact your pharmacist or G.P.
By law I have a duty to make you aware of our Safeguarding Children Policy. This policy sets out how the school safeguards and promotes the welfare of the children and young people in its care. The policy is available to view on our website (www.stalbridge.dorset.sch.uk). Child Protection Procedures can be made available on request.
