This year's focus- The Power of Practice
This year, all the classes will be focussing on the importance of regular practise. Our School development plan is based on this theme. I will share this plan with you shortly.

Otters class- Reception
Mrs Jones and Mrs Cuff have really enjoyed getting to know our youngest pupils in the school. The children have settled in very well, attending assembly on their very first day! It is good to see so many of them are coming in independently. Well done. We are proud of them all.

Meet the teacher
Each autumn term, we welcome parents to meet their new teacher and see the classroom. The meetings last about 20-30 minutes. Please do come and join us.

School Council and Eco-Council
School Council and Eco-council Rep elections will take place next week. If your child is interested in being a class representative, they must write a short paragraph (with help) explaining what difference they could make in these roles. For Reception and Year 1, they might like to draw a picture and talk about their ideas. Remember that they must choose to stand for either School Council or Eco- Council.

Pupil Premium- Are you eligible?
If you are in receipt of benefits, your child may be entitled to Pupil Premium. This will give you entitlement to free school meals and provide the school with funds to support your child. We will also provide help with school uniform. Year R pupil premium parents need to reapply, even if you were eligible at pre -school. You will need your national insurance number. If you think that you might be eligible, please call this number 01305 221000.

Medicines/ Inhalers/ Epipens
Does your child use an inhaler? If yes, you will need to complete a form from the office. Let your class teacher know and he/she will help you. Please keep a check on the date of the medicine. If your child needs medicines prescribed by a doctor, please come and fill in a consent form. Our staff will then be able to administer it on your behalf.

Learning behaviours and Collective worship
This term, we are focussing on the resilient penguin when facing a challenge. We are exploring the theme of 'faith' during our collective worship.

Drinks and Snacks
Please make sure that your child brings a refillable water bottle and healthy snack (fruit or cereal bar) every day. We are a healthy school and we don't allow crisps/ chocolate at playtimes. Thank you for your cooperation.

Summer swim school
Mrs Joy would like to say a big thank you to everyone who attended her swimming lessons over the summer holidays. It went very well and the children showed great resilience.

Uniform
It's great to see the children arriving at school looking smart. All uniform can be ordered at www.brigadeuniformdirect.com.uk. Please remember that PE t-shirts must have the school logo. We use these for events and trips too.

Attendance
We want to encourage all families to keep good attendance. A letter is attached. If you have any difficulties with attendance, you must speak to your class teacher or me and we may be able to support you.

School Receptionist post
We have a vacancy for a part time receptionist (3 mornings a week). This can be found on https://jobs.dorsetforyou.gov.uk/school-support-staff-schools-receptionist-stalbridge-ce-primary-school/22961.job
