Cleanest classroom - Year 6
Special mentions to - Maisie Cox for being awarded her next belt in Taekwondo.

Year 1 Trip to Charmouth Wednesday 10th May
Mrs Cuff and her class are off to Charmouth to explore fossils and more. This will really help with their 'dinosaurs' topic. Please make sure that Year 1 pupils have a coat and their rucksack with them.

Brenscombe Residential Information Meeting Thursday 11th May 3.15pm
All parents and Year 6 pupils can come along to an information session next week. We will share photos of previous trips and summarise the timetable. We look forward to seeing you there.

Year 6 Bring and Buy Sale
Well done to the Year 6 children who ran a 'bring and buy' sale for the last two weeks. They managed to raise over £100. The children would like to share their money with the RSPCA and the school. Erin, Sophie and her team have worked so hard to get organised. Thanks to parents who have helped the children.

Girl's football
We took a group of KS2 girls to a tournament at Child Okeford this week. We played in mixed teams with other schools. It was a great opportunity to show off the skills we have learnt during our training. Well done to everyone. Great goals from Ruby, Layla and Martha. Fantastic goal keeping from Bethany!

E-Safety for Children
Hannah from the Dorset Police Safer schools team visited us all this week. She taught all the children how to stay safe online. She was very impressed with the children's knowledge of
E-Safety too. If they have a device to use, please make sure you monitor and check it. The making and sharing of videos on YouTube was a hot topic with our KS2 children. Please talk to your children about this.

Key Stage 2 SATs
Next week, our Year 6 children will be taking part in assessments. We start the day with a big breakfast in school and relax together. We recommend that the children have a restful weekend with the family before the busy week begins.

It's a Boy!
Mrs Franklin is celebrating the birth of her baby boy, George. Both mum and baby are doing very well. We look forward to meeting him very soon.

Can you help us at school?
Can you spare an hour or two a week to help us with our learning? This could be for clubs, for reading or for swimming. We would be delighted to have you with us. Please see the office if you can help.

That's all our news for this week.

Kind regards
Sarah Lafferty-Jenkins
Headteacher
