Sports Day 2017
We had a great time yesterday competing for the cup. Well done to Year 5 class, who started both events off with a Samba performance.
Thank you for coming along and providing much needed support. The children were fantastic as usual, supporting each other and showing courage and determination in all their events. We are so proud of them. Very well done to the blue team, who won on points overall.
Thank you to our PTA team for running such a successful summer fayre after sports day, and for you as parents for attending and supporting it. We will announce the totals raised next week.
This week, we launched our new reading resource, 'Reading Eggs'. We are really interested in finding out your views about your child's reading. This is such an important skill for helping children with their learning. Your views may help us to improve our approach. Please would you log into this brief survey by clicking on the link below. Please note that we will be collecting in all reading journals and reading books from next week. Keep enjoying reading eggs over the summer break.
We have lots of bits and pieces in our lost property box. We will put it out on the playground next week. Please make sure that the children continue to wear the correct uniform until the end of term, including school shoes or sandals.. Extreme hair cuts must wait until the school term ends please.
Thank you to Mr Rose (Levi's Dad) for fixing our wake and shake sound system! We really appreciate it.
Headteacher/ Deputy Headteacher for the day
Well done to Ruby (Miss White) and Oscar (Mr Moore), who took over for the day! They were elected by the children during the General Election week. We saw some excellent leadership from them, leading their assembly on 'respect' and encouraging good work from all the classes. They gave away over 100 raffle tickets too! They both said it was such a busy day, exhausting but enjoyable!

Donate your old school shoes - Mercy in Action www.mercyinaction.org.uk
This year, we are asking families to donate outgrown school shoes to the above charity. This charity takes used school shoes and provides them for children in need in the Philippines (see poster attached). This helps them to attend school regularly. On the last day of term, children can bring a replacement pair of shoes to change into (any sensible shoes) and donate their old school shoes to this charity. We will do a 'shoe swap' and collection at lunch time. You must give your child permission to do this! You can give written permission via an email, a note or a text. Thank you for your support. We look forward to seeing how many pairs we can collect!
Good Luck Mrs Gill
We want to wish Karen all our best wishes as she marries Phil on Saturday. She will be returning as Mrs Joy.
Don't forget that we finish school at 2.30pm on Thursday 20th July.
