Breakfast & After School Club Changes

Nov 2016

Dear Parents/Carers

Breakfast and After School Club changes from January 2017

We have offered an extended hours service, since 2010, for our children before and after school. Care is available from 8:00am until 5:15pm Monday-Thursday and 4:30pm on a Friday. Children can have a healthy breakfast before school and a healthy snack after school, whilst being offered a range of play opportunities in a caring and supportive environment.

Our prices have not risen since opening six years ago. Both our clubs have become very successful and we have had to employ additional members of staff to accommodate the amount of children who attend. As a result, we have to increase the price to cover these costs. The cost will apply to all children that attend, whether they attend the whole session or only part of it. From the 4th January 2017, the new pricing will be as follows:

Breakfast club
Monday - Friday £3.00 per child (8:00-8.50)
This will include a light breakfast of either cereal or toast for children arriving before 8:10.

After school club
Monday - Thursday £3.50 per hour, per child.
£4.00* per session, per child. (session = 4:00-5:15)
Friday £4.00 per session, per child. (session = 3:15-4:30)

*For those children starting at 4:00pm following a teacher led after school club. (Session = 4:00-5:15 per child)

These costs have been carefully calculated to make sure we cover our costs and benchmarked to ensure that our offer matches that which other schools can offer.

Payment can be made in advance for the week or even term and can take the form of cash or ParentPay. If you pay in advance for your child to attend the club every day for a term, you will receive a discount of 10%; this will only apply if you have prepaid.

All outstanding payments must be made by the end of the calendar month. If payments are late, your child's place may be withdrawn. If you have booked a place for your child on a particular day and they are absent, payment will still need to be made.

Thank you for your cooperation,

Kind regards

Sarah Lafferty-Jenkins
Headteacher

End of term

18th July 2014

18th July 2014

Dear Parents

Hurrah it's the holidays!

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone - parents, governors, staff and especially the children - for the lovely year's learning we have had at our school. Everyone working together ensures that the children are safe, happy and learning well.

We've a few bits of information and reminders for you to stick on your fridge so that school doesn't completely go from your thoughts.

• We're back on Tuesday 2nd September!

• The pool will be available for hire on Mondays to Saturdays from 10am to 4pm in the weeks beginning 21st July, 4th August, 18th August and from 12 noon - 4pm on week beginning 11th August. Please note the pool is unavailable week commencing 28th July.
Hire times - 10am-10.55am, 11am-11.55am, 12-12.55pm , 1pm-1.55pm, 2pm-2.55pm, 3pm-3.55pm. The cost of the pool hire will be £12 for the 55 minutes. If you would like to book the pool please ring Miss Mandy Elsworth on 01963 364250 or 07530 651761.

• Alice Cookman is running a half marathon to raise funds for our swimming pool. Please contribute to her fundraising bucket in our reception area.

• Hot School Meals - You are able to order your hot school meals online now for September and onwards. A reminder to all, especially parents of children in Year R and Year 1 - if you don't order a meal there will not be one for your child.

• School Uniform - if you find that you need some new school uniform for September please email the school office, karen@stalbridge.dorset.sch.uk we may have some in stock, if not Mrs Arnold will do an order straight away at the beginning of term. We would like to make PE t-shirts with our school logo on compulsory. We find that when children go on sporting events or school trips it is easier to identify our children when they are wearing our t-shirts.

Thank you to everyone who helped and supported the Summer Fayre - we raised approximately £750.

All information you should need is on our website, www.stalbridge.dorset.sch.uk.

Over the summer we're having the playground re-surfaced and we're doing some cosmetic touches to make the whole school, in and out, a little brighter.

I, on behalf of everyone, wish everyone a lovely summer break.

Yours sincerely

Mr M Allen
Headteacher

Espresso Introduction letter

27th January 2013

Dear Parent/Carer

Learning from home just got more exciting with Espresso!

We are pleased to announce that you and your child can access the BAFTA award-winning Espresso Primary service at home.

We use Espresso in school to help motivate, engage and support learning in the classroom. Now your child can continue to enjoy what they have been doing at school, and you can be involved in their learning at home.

About Espresso Primary
Espresso Primary is an online cross-curricular service that provides video-rich resources to schools throughout the UK. It contains thousands of videos and multimedia activities, as well as a weekly news service - all designed by teaching professionals. For more information, please visit: www.espresso.co.uk

Espresso Primary Home Access includes a Home learning area and Parents' guide with information to help you use the service.

How to access Espresso from home
To access Espresso from home you will need a PC or Apple Mac and a connection to the internet. You can then go to:

www.espresso.co.uk and enter your child's username and password, these are available from school.

If you have any trouble logging in or accessing Espresso from home, please contact us.

Getting started
Before you start using Espresso, read the Parents' guide. This explains what Espresso is, how to use it and how to support your child with their learning. To find the guide, select one of the Home learning icons (from the appropriate key stage) on the left-hand side of the Espresso home page. The Parents' guide button is located in the top left-hand corner of the following page.

Your child should already be familiar with Espresso. They could show you how they have been using it in class and how to find resources. Once you are familiar with the service, you and your child may like to explore Espresso's modules or the Home learning area. Specifically designed for home use, it includes easy-to-follow Learning paths and curriculum objectives.

We hope you will find Espresso useful as a resource to extend your child's learning. If you have any further questions about how to use the service, please speak to your child's teacher.

Kind regards

Michael Allen
