8th February 2010
I can't quite believe we're only a school week away from half term. I think the snow weeks and then Ofsted made January fly by. We hope we kept you well informed of everything that was going on.
Here's some information and new dates for this week and the beginning of next term.
Hot School Meals
We hope many of you are coming/have come along to the taster session for hot school meals. We're starting hot school meals on Monday 1st March, this is week 3 on the menu list. Included with this newsletter is the hot school meals flyer and menu.
The price for a hot school meal, including dessert, is £2.10 per day. You can order meals for all week or just for one day. Meals must be ordered and paid for in advance for a one week period. We must receive orders with payment every week or your child will not be booked meals for the following week. Please put your order form and payment in a small envelope. If your child is entitled to free school meals then please just send in the order form. If you think you may be entitled to free school meals for your child please contact Dorset County Council on 01305 251000.
The local authority is able to grant free school meals to children whose parents receive any of the following: Income Support; Child Tax Credit provided you are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual taxable income as assessed by the Inland Revenue, which does not exceed £15,575.00; Income-based Jobseekers' Allowance; Guaranteed Element of State Pension Credit; Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999.
It will take us all a while to get used to the system. Here's the checklist from the hot school meals
pack sent to me!
You MUST complete and fill out the order slip(s) relating to the week for which you are paying.
If a payment is received without a menu selection attached, then that child will be provided with the main choice selection.
All payments must be in a sealed envelope with your child's name and class clearly marked.
Envelopes must clearly show the week for which the payment is enclosed. If payment is sent into school with your child, please ensure that it reaches the school office to avoid disappointment.
If you are ordering for individual days at £2.10 per day, these also have to be ordered a week in advance.
If your child is absent from school the money CANNOT be refunded for meals that have already been booked.
Please note that orders will always be collected one week in advance on the DAY preceding the week for which you are ordering, even if you are only ordering a meal for one or two days during that week. Payments must be made in cash or by cheque made payable to Stalbridge Primary School.
Mrs Bollen is taking on the role of School Meals Administrator. Could all queries about school meals be addressed to her. Mrs Arnold and Mrs Butchers are not involved in the school meals administration.
Mrs Lane will now be taking charge of the hot school meals servery. Because of this we require a new Midday Supervisor. The hours of work are 11.55am to 1.10pm. If you are interested in the role please contact the school office.
Clubs will continue this week except on parents' evenings (Tuesday and Wednesday). The choir on Friday is taking a break this week. All clubs will start the first week back after half term.
