Eco Council members 2011/12

Here are our eco school council members!!

The Big Tidy Up!

Part of the school council's duties is to make sure that the school is kept tidy and litter free. This week the council will be creating a rota so that all classes take part in litter picking in break and lunch times. Look at the cool green 'Big Tidy Up' outfits that we get to wear!

Year 5 Recycling Walk

Year 5 have just started their 'Keen to be Green' project. On Wednesday 3rd May they set off with a bag of rubbish each and visited the recycling hotspots of Stalbridge! They were able to recycle most things except cardboard so a plan has been put in place to write a persuasive letter to the council!

Cans for Cash

As most of you know we are collecting cans to raise money for Ben Tickner in Year 1 to have special therapy. We're all doing a fantastic job as so far (as of 1st May 2012) we have collected 1480kg of cans and 108kg of aluminium foil. That means a total amount of £881.20! And there's still 150kg of cans waiting to be sorted and sold! Well done to everyone and thank you for your support. Keep collecting!

Bug Boxes!

The eco council have been very busy with Mr Harvey making bug houses! They have put 2 in the environmental area and one just in front on the gate. Make sure you take a peek to see which creepy crawlies you can spot!
