Dear Parents,

Happy New Year! We hope the Christmas break went well. It is good to see all the children returning with such enthusiasm and excitement. There are lots of exciting events planned for this spring term, including more opportunities to come in and spend time with your children. Remember that if you have any questions, you are welcome to pop in and see me or any member of our team.

Well done to our achievers of the week;
'Spotted' for showing Christian Values - Lily Goddard in Year 2 for being an excellent role model and learning partner, and for being patient and showing tolerance.

Cleanest classroom - Year R
Special mentions to - Tristan Houghton; for winning a special Karate award called -'The Little Samurai' award. Well done! Tristan was up against 600 children to win this. We are proud of you!

The Science Dome
We really enjoyed the science dome yesterday! All the children had an opportunity to learn in a new way for their science and history topics. This really got their curiosity enthused and children discovered lots of new things.

Year 3 Workalong Maths Weds 11th January 9am
Next week, parents and carers are invited in to tackle a maths lesson with their children. It's a really good opportunity to see how we learn maths in school and to share your work as a family. If you would like to join us, please come and sign in at the front desk first.

Pupils wearing watches
It's good to see that many pupils have received a watch for Christmas. Please note that the some watches are not suitable for school and pupils are advised to leave these at home.

  • Smart watches - those that take photos and record sounds

  • Watches with toys inside that distract your children from learning

  •

Additionally, please don't allow your child to bring in IPod, IPhones, Smart phones or any electronic devices. Many thanks.

After School clubs
Our clubs offer went out on Wednesday. Thanks very much for signing up for staff led clubs. We would appreciate it if you would let the office know when your child is unable to attend. Thank you.

Believe-Discover-Aspire
Thank you very much for all your family work on our motto, Believe, Discover, Aspire. This term we are thinking about the word 'Discover' and what it means for us as a school and as families. The children will be exploring this in their classes.

Christian values, learning behaviours
This term, our Christian value is 'Hope'. We will be thinking about bible stories about hope and how we can use hope to make future plans. Our learning behaviour is 'Risky Wolf', where we encourage the children to take on a challenge and move out of their comfort zone. In Jigsaw, we are exploring 'Dreams and Goals'. Our next church service is on Thursday 12th January 9.05am. All welcome.

We look forward to an exciting term together

Kind regards

Sarah Lafferty-Jenkins
Headteacher
