On Thursday, we will be celebrating Word Number Day with a whole school maths day. The children will be working in mixed age groups to tackle some number challenges together. The teachers are looking forward to working with lots of year groups all in one very busy day.
The Big Garden Birdwatch
Thank you for donating bird food and feeders to the school for the RSPB birdwatch. We will be taking part in this event on Monday and will let you know how we get on. Thank you for the kind donations of logs, too.
PTA Cake Sale Thursday 2nd February
The PTA are holding a cake sale in the hall on Thursday after school. Please help this cause by donating cakes on the day. The sale will be in the hall straight after school. We are hoping to raise money for some ICT equipment and funds towards whole school activities.
On the 17th January 2017, 13 brave KS2 children set out on a journey to Sturminster High School. Orienteering was the purpose of their mission, which is where you have a map and different numbers to find. These children were: Oscar, Ruby, Finn, Ellis, Erin, Sarah-Louise, Lewis, Lola and Dylan.
When everyone was gathered, we were given the resources - a map and route, which would help us find our way around. First off was Finn and Lewis who sprinted off to their first post. Oscar and Ruby followed and were desperate to get first place! Although three girls had a challenging route, they finished in an extraordinary time. Meanwhile, Ellis and Dylan sped through their course and came second. A great afternoon, well done to the team.

Internet Safety Week
The whole school will take part in internet safety activities from Monday 6th February. We will access resources which include staying safe online, reporting anything which concerns us and remembering not to share personal information. The Police internet safety teams will be visiting in May to teach all classes about Internet safety. A Safer schools team letter is attached.
We have recently employed Jo Sleep and Julie Tanswell, who have joined our cleaning team this term. We welcome them and give our huge thanks to Mrs Prangnell for her hard work in the interim.
We are pleased to inform you that there are Girl's Football coaching sessions available in Blandford for KS2 girls. Please see the attached letter.
